There are many practical uses for Google power searching. One practical use for me would be the conversion tables. I am currently taking chemistry in high school and many problems that we do require conversions of units. I can now use Google to make conversions between units of volume, mass, length and other types of units. Another practical use of Google power searching is removing invasive results. To do this a minus sign is used to take out results with that word in them. In classes such as history I can use this to filter my research results for certain topics. Also for history research I can use the date range to find primary sources from a certain period in time. For example if we are doing research on the War in Afghanistan, I could use the date range to find information published in the early 21st century. There are many practical uses of Google power searching, especially for filtering out results when researching a topic.
